These General Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the basis on which you may access and use the Sinder mobile application, website and related services (together, the "Sinder App" or "Services").
By creating a Sinder account, accessing or using the Sinder App, or clicking "I agree" when presented with these Terms, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Sinder App.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Sinder Fintech Computer Systems & Communication Equipment Software Design L.L.C, a company incorporated under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, company number 1414902, with its registered office at 31 Maktabik Business Centre, SONY Building, Al Raffa, Dubai, PO Box 45978, United Arab Emirates ("Sinder", "we", "us" or "our").
In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Sinder only.
1. About Sinder and our role
Sinder is a UAE technology company. We operate the Sinder App and provide the technology interface that helps you access, view and manage products and services provided by regulated and third-party partners.
Sinder is not a bank. Sinder does not issue payment cards, hold customer funds as principal, provide credit, accept deposits or provide investment, tax or financial advice.
For Phase 1:
- Ruya Community Islamic Bank LLC ("ruya") is Sinder's regulated banking partner, issuing bank and account provider for the Sinder Travel Card and associated account;
- Network International LLC supports payment processing; and
- Mastercard is the card scheme for the Mastercard Platinum Debit card.
2. Other terms that apply
When you sign up for a product in the Sinder App, you may be asked to agree to additional product terms ("Product Terms"). Product Terms may include:
- the Cardholder Agreement between you and ruya;
- the Sinder FX & Fees Disclosure;
- benefits and rewards terms;
- account closure and dormancy terms; and
- related card, account and support disclosures.
These Terms govern app access and the Sinder technology interface only. Product Terms govern the relevant product or service. If these Terms conflict with Product Terms, the Product Terms apply to that product to the extent of the conflict.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal data, including data obtained from UAE PASS, ruya, Network International, Mastercard, KYC/AML providers and other service providers.
3. Eligibility and account registration
To use the Sinder App, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
- provide true, accurate and complete information; and
- meet eligibility, residency, KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud prevention and risk requirements that apply to you or to products you request.
You must keep your information up to date. We may ask for additional information or documents and may suspend or restrict your access if you do not provide them or if we cannot verify them.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you may only hold one personal Sinder account.
4. Accessing and using the Sinder App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to install and use the Sinder App for your own personal use.
You are responsible for:
- keeping your device and login credentials secure;
- ensuring that only you access your Sinder account;
- installing updates to your operating system and the Sinder App when available; and
- notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access, loss, theft or compromise.
We aim to keep the Sinder App available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Availability may be affected by maintenance, updates, outages, partner issues, security incidents or events outside our reasonable control.
5. Fees and charges
We may charge fees for certain app features or services. Where applicable, we will make Sinder fees clear in advance within the Sinder App or relevant Product Terms.
Fees related to card, account, FX, ATM, physical card issuance, replacement, benefits or other product features are shown in the Sinder App, the FX & Fees Disclosure and applicable Product Terms. By using a product, you agree to pay the fees that apply to that product.
You are responsible for any taxes or duties that apply to your use of the Sinder App or underlying products and services.
6. Communications and electronic signatures
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically through the Sinder App, email, SMS, push notifications or other digital channels regarding your account, products, legal documents and other matters.
Electronic signatures and confirmations, including clicking "I agree" or using in-app confirmations, have the same legal effect as paper signatures where permitted by law.
You must keep your contact details up to date.
7. Privacy and data sharing
Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
You authorise us to share data where needed with:
- ruya, as Sinder's regulated banking partner, issuing bank and account provider;
- Network International;
- Mastercard;
- KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud and security providers;
- hosting, analytics, customer support and operational vendors;
- payment processors and financial institutions involved in transactions;
- regulators, law enforcement, courts or authorities where required or permitted by law; and
- other parties where you direct us, consent or applicable law permits.
Your data may be processed in, or transferred to, countries outside the UAE. We take appropriate measures to protect data in accordance with applicable law.
8. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the Sinder App, including software, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks and content, belong to Sinder or our licensors.
You must not copy, modify, adapt, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense or misuse any part of the Sinder App except as permitted by law.
If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use and incorporate that feedback without compensation.
9. Prohibited activities
You must not use the Sinder App:
- in breach of these Terms, Product Terms or applicable law;
- for fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion or other illegal activity;
- to abuse or circumvent any card scheme, rewards, referral, cashback, benefits or promotional programme;
- to upload or distribute malicious code;
- to interfere with or gain unauthorised access to the Sinder App, our systems or partner systems;
- to infringe another person's rights; or
- for any purpose we reasonably consider abusive, harmful or inappropriate.
We may report suspicious or unlawful activity to relevant authorities.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to the Sinder App or any product, with or without notice, if:
- you breach these Terms or Product Terms;
- we suspect fraudulent, unauthorised or illegal activity;
- we are required to do so by law, a regulator, a court, card scheme rules, issuer requirements or compliance/risk controls;
- your continued use poses a risk to Sinder, partners or other users; or
- we discontinue all or part of the Sinder App.
You may request to close your Sinder account through the Sinder App or by contacting us. Closing your Sinder account may not automatically close your underlying ruya-issued account or Card; you must follow the relevant Product Terms.
After termination or closure, your licence to use the Sinder App ends and we may retain data as required or permitted by law.
11. Disclaimers
Nothing in the Sinder App is investment, tax or financial advice. Any information we provide is general information only and does not take your individual circumstances into account.
We try to keep information in the Sinder App accurate and up to date, but exchange rates, pricing, benefits, features and eligibility may change.
The Sinder App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages, loss of profit, loss of data or loss arising from your failure to comply with these Terms, third-party acts or omissions, app store issues, identity provider issues or events beyond our reasonable control.
Subject to the previous paragraph, our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms and your use of the Sinder App will not exceed the greater of AED 5,000 or the total fees paid by you to Sinder in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Sinder, our affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents harmless from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms or Product Terms, misuse of the Sinder App or violation of law or third-party rights.
14. Changes
We may modify, suspend, discontinue or add features to the Sinder App at any time.
We may amend these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where required, notify you through the Sinder App, email or another reasonable channel.
If you continue to use the Sinder App after changes take effect, you will be treated as accepting the updated Terms.
15. App stores
If you download the Sinder App from an app store, these Terms are between you and Sinder only, not the app store provider. You must also comply with applicable app store terms and policies.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, without regard to conflict of law rules.
The courts of Dubai, UAE will have jurisdiction to settle disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Sinder App, subject to any mandatory consumer or financial services rules that apply.

If your complaint relates to a ruya-issued account, Card or regulated financial service, Sinder may triage, support and route the complaint to ruya as issuer/account provider. Eligible unresolved complaints involving a UAE licensed financial institution may be escalated to Sanadak after the relevant internal complaint process has been attempted.
18. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with applicable Product Terms and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sinder regarding the Sinder App.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture or agency relationship between you and Sinder.
